About Lindsay Robertson and Horse Studios
Exhibitions at The Horse of the Year Show,
The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event,
Royal Windsor and Hickstead.
Featured in many International
Magazines. Also Exhibited at the
Royal Scottish Academy and the
Royal College of Art London,
with work recently auctioned
at Sotheby's New York and
showcased on BBC TV.
Lindsay was the first
photographer to be
offered a residency at
the prestigeous Hermitage
artist retreat in Florida, The
only 'by invitation' artists retreat
in America. During the residency
his art came to the attention of the
George Eastman House, the Worlds
pre-eminent Museum of Photography.
Subsequently, Lindsay was given the
opportunity to bring the Museums
Ansel Adams collection to Scotland,
and stage a joint exhibition alongside
this iconic Master Photographer.
Becoming the only Photographer
ever to have been awarded such a
privilage by the renowned Museum.

The Concept
'Keeping a fresh approach to projects
and commissions that inspire is the
key to any artists work.
The challenge I set myself was to
capture the stature and majesty of
these amazing animals.To provide
the opportunity for each individual
horse to project it’s dominance,
and display it’s character and
spirit within a solitary space.
The studio space provides
the ideal stage to isolate
the horse from it's usual
environment. That element
of isolation creates the power
for a commanding portrait, with
dominant and statuesque images
of the horse.
Images where the scale of the
surroundings are sympathetic to
the animals size and presence;
compelling the viewer into the
captivating aura, energy and
beauty which these glorious
animals possess and transmit.'
